The TWAS Research Professors in Least Developed Countries (LDCs) Programme offers short-term research visits to TWAS-affiliated scientists from LDCs. This initiative aims to strengthen scientific collaborations, foster advanced training, and enhance local research capacities by pairing TWAS Fellows, Young Affiliates, or Alumni with host institutions in LDCs. Visits last between two to four weeks, with travel support provided by TWAS and local expenses covered by the host institution. The programme also includes an honorarium for the visiting professor.
Eligibility is restricted to TWAS Fellows, Young Affiliates, or Alumni, with requests submitted by research groups or scientific institutions in LDCs. The appointment lasts one year, during which the professor must visit the host institution for the specified duration.
