TWAS-CUI Postgraduate Fellowship Programme 2026

The TWAS-CUI Postgraduate Fellowship Programme 2026 supports young scientists from developing countries (excluding Pakistan) to pursue a PhD in natural or social sciences at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Pakistan.

What it offers

• Fellowships are tenable in departments and laboratories across CUI campuses in Pakistan.
• Duration: Up to 3 years for full-time fellowships.
• Fields: Natural sciences (e.g., Computer Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology) and social sciences (e.g., Management Science, Development Studies).
• Stipend: Monthly stipend to cover living costs (food, accommodation, health insurance); not convertible to foreign currency.
• Start dates: Autumn semester (September 2026) or Spring semester (February 2027, except Abbottabad campus which starts in March 2027).
• Language of instruction: English.

Who can apply

• Must be a national of a developing country other than Pakistan.
• Must not be on site in Pakistan or hold a visa for temporary/permanent residency in Pakistan or any developed country.
• Age limit: Maximum 35 years by 31 December 2026.
• Hold an MSc degree (with research) in natural sciences or social sciences (depending on field).
• CGPA requirement: Minimum 3.0/4.0 or 60% marks, with no “D” grades.
• Must pass GRE (Subject) or GAT (Subject) test within the first semester at CUI, scoring a minimum of 60.
