Paid Internship Opportunity at the Dutch Embassy in Nairobi – January 2027 Intake

The Dutch Embassy in Nairobi is offering a paid internship for 6 months, from January 11, 2027, to July 12, 2027, focused on humanitarian and migration support in the Horn of Africa region. The intern will assist the Regional Humanitarian Coordinator in tracking developments in South Sudan, monitoring El Niño’s humanitarian impacts, and organizing networking events with partners. The role emphasizes development cooperation, conflict studies, or humanitarian aid, with a strong English requirement and Dutch nationality. The internship provides a €800 monthly stipend and exposure to diverse international and local stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Support the Regional Humanitarian Coordinator in tracking South Sudan’s developments and maintaining contact with Dutch partners.
• Monitor El Niño’s humanitarian effects in the Horn of Africa, producing reports for regional posts and internal teams.
• Organize a regional networking event on a Dutch humanitarian priority (to be determined).
• Assist with refugee support programs in Kenya and new program initiatives.
• Participate in meetings with partners and donors (as needed).
