Sixth edition of the Amani Africa Training Institute on the African Union to be held in Addis Ababa in 2026.
The Amani Africa Training Institute 2026 is a three-day intensive program hosted by Amani Africa Media and Research Services, focusing on African Union (AU) policy processes, governance, and regional integration. This sixth edition will take place from 16–18 November 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, offering expert-led training on AU decision-making, peace and security, and democratic governance. The program aims to equip participants with strategic insights into AU structures, practical engagement strategies, and how to maximize impact in AU-related work.
What it offers
Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of AU institutions, decision-making processes, and practical engagement strategies for civil society organizations (CSOs), researchers, and AU-affiliated professionals. The training covers AU governance, peace and security, regional integration, and Africa’s role in global affairs, with a focus on how to effectively interact with AU policies and processes.

The program is open to:
- Staff of the African Union (AU), Regional Economic Communities (RECs), and Regional States (RMs)
- International organizations working on AU matters
- Staff of Directorate Generals of Ministry of Foreign Affairs focused on Africa and the AU
- Diplomats accredited to the AU
- Media professionals covering AU affairs
- Representatives of Africa-based CSOs, particularly youth- and women-led organizations
- Researchers interested in AU mandate, processes, and work

Participants will engage in interactive sessions led by AU experts, policy makers, and scholars, covering:
- AU structures, decision-making dynamics, and institutional reforms
- Current policy trends and forces shaping AU governance
- Practical engagement strategies for CSOs and researchers
- How to plan and engage the AU for maximum impact
