Amani Africa Training Institute on the African Union

The Amani Africa Training Institute on the African Union is a three-day intensive program (16–18 November 2026) hosted by Amani Africa Media and Research Services, focusing on African Union (AU) policy processes, governance, and engagement strategies. It targets professionals involved in AU affairs, including AU staff, diplomats, researchers, CSOs, and media professionals, with a focus on regional integration, peace and security, and democratic governance. The program offers practical insights into AU operations and engagement tactics for civil society organizations (CSOs).

What it offers

Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of AU structures, decision-making processes, and institutional dynamics, alongside practical skills on how to engage AU policies effectively. The training covers current policy trends, AU governance, and strategies for CSOs to interact with AU mechanisms.

The program is open to:

• Staff of the African Union (AU)
• Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and Regional States (RMs)
• International organizations
• States with Ministries of Foreign Affairs focusing on Africa/AU
• Diplomats accredited to the AU
• Media professionals covering AU affairs
• Africa-based CSOs (particularly youth- and women-led organizations)
• Researchers interested in AU mandate, processes, and work

How to apply

Applicants must submit:

1. A one-page cover letter explaining how the training aligns with their work.
2. A two-page resume with contact details and two referee references.
