African Food Baskets Country Researchers

The Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA) is seeking 10 African researchers to document food heritage across the continent as part of the African Food Baskets initiative.

What it offers

• Opportunity to document a country’s food heritage, including foods, dishes, beverages, recipes, food sources, menus, stories, proverbs, and cultural knowledge.
• Work with communities and local knowledge holders to collect field data.
• Contribute to a continental resource for advocacy, research, education, communication, and policy engagement.

• Qualified African researchers.

What you'll do

• Engage with communities and local knowledge holders.
• Conduct field data collection, including photography.
• Validate findings and submit a complete country data package and brief narrative report.
