Remote Social Media Consultant

The Jane Goodall Institute is seeking a part-time remote Social Media Consultant to produce short-form video and visual content that advances its conservation and youth-engagement missions.

Who can apply

• 1–3 years of social media experience
• Demonstrated success creating mission-driven short-form video content that generates engagement and shareability
• Proficient in editing videos, selecting and optimizing photos, and producing graphics for social media
• Comfortable working within set style and brand guidelines
• Highly creative with excellent editorial judgment and strong written communication skills
• Experience using Microsoft Office and basic editing and graphic design tools, including Canva

What you'll do

• Create four short-form videos per month optimized for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other emerging platforms
• Organize and source footage and imagery from JGI’s archival collections and approved content libraries
• Edit videos with compelling storytelling, captions, music, graphics, and motion elements
• Produce eight social media posts per month highlighting Roots & Shoots projects, youth leaders, and U.S. community impact stories
• Collaborate with JGI staff to identify featured projects and success stories
• Create four social media posts per month featuring wildlife stories, conservation impacts, and chimpanzee rehabilitation efforts
• Ensure all content aligns with JGI brand standards, messaging priorities, and platform best practices
• Adapt content formats and creative approaches to maximize engagement and reach
