Remote Branding & Strategic Communications Consultant

PILnet is seeking a senior branding and communications consultant to refresh its global identity and messaging for donors, legal partners, and civil society.

What it offers

• Senior advisory role focused on brand strategy, identity, and internal capacity building
• Commitment from September 2026 to December 2026 at ~20 hours per week
• Work must overlap with ET, CET, or WAT time zones; location is remote

Who can apply

• Minimum 8 years in strategic communications and brand development, including at least 3 years in nonprofit communications
• Documented branding projects for mission- or impact-driven nonprofits or public interest organizations
• Must provide before/after examples and client references from the nonprofit sector
• Excellent written and verbal English skills; additional languages are a plus
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, autonomy, and ability to collaborate across teams

What you'll do

• Conduct a brand audit of current positioning, messaging, and visual identity
• Refresh brand narrative and update brand guidelines for consistent application across digital, print, and events
• Support standardization of messaging across website, annual reports, social media, and fundraising campaigns
• Serve as a strategic partner to the Director of Communications and Events
• Develop a brand toolkit and facilitate a staff workshop to align internal culture with external brand
