African Leadership University (ALU) Scholarships

African Leadership University (ALU) offers scholarships and grants to support students who demonstrate financial need and meet admissions requirements, aiming to make education accessible to future leaders across Africa.

What it offers

• ALU Grants: Fee waivers applied to tuition only, covering the duration of the minimum degree completion time. Not redeemable in cash and do not cover other costs.
• Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program: Full-ride scholarships covering full tuition and additional financial support throughout the scholars’ journey at ALU. Terms and conditions may vary depending on the scholarship contract or partnering donor.

Who can apply

• Must meet ALU admissions requirements.
• ALU Grants: Applicants must be otherwise unable to afford ALU tuition without financial aid and demonstrate financial need with supporting documents.
• Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program: Applicants must be otherwise unable to afford ALU tuition with any other form of aid, demonstrate financial need and socio-economic disadvantage, and be aged 26 and below. Priority is given to females, refugees and displaced individuals, individuals with physical or learning disabilities, and those with strong academic records and leadership potential.

• Provide additional information during the ALU application process to determine eligibility for financial aid.
• Limited slots are available per intake, and not everyone who is eligible will receive aid.
