African Leadership University (ALU) Rwanda Scholarships for African Students

ALU offers need-based financial aid and full-ride scholarships to help African students access its world-class Bachelor’s degree programs and leadership training in Rwanda.

What it offers

• ALU Grants: tuition fee waivers applied directly to a student’s invoice for the duration of the minimum degree completion time; not redeemable in cash and do not cover other costs.
• Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program: full-ride scholarships covering full tuition plus additional financial support throughout the scholar’s journey at ALU (terms and conditions vary by donor).

Who can apply

• Must first meet ALU Admissions requirements.
• For grants: applicants must be otherwise unable to afford ALU tuition without aid and demonstrate financial need with supporting documents.
• For Mastercard Foundation Scholarships: applicants must be otherwise unable to afford tuition, demonstrate financial need and socio-economic disadvantage, be aged 26 and below, have strong national exam scores of at least a B, show strong leadership potential, and be active contributors in their communities.

How to apply

• Provide additional information during the ALU application process to determine eligibility for financial aid.
• Limited slots are available per intake; not all eligible applicants will receive aid.
