AVoHC Kofi Annan Scholars Program – Financial Specialist – Africa CDC 2026

The AVoHC Kofi Annan Scholars Program offers volunteer placements for Financial Specialists to support public health institutions across African Union Member States.

Who can apply

• Citizens of any African Union Member State or the African Diaspora.
• Candidates with a Master’s or doctoral degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in financial management, auditing, or policy development.
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or CFA) is an advantage.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures aligned with international best practices and national regulations.
• Conduct assessments of existing financial policies and draft a comprehensive financial management manual.
• Strengthen budgeting, reporting, disbursement, and auditing procedures.
• Provide training and capacity building for financial teams.
• Establish internal controls to mitigate financial risk and prevent fraud.
• Advise senior leadership on financial sustainability strategies, including resource mobilization and donor engagement.
