Uganda Public Health Fellowship Program - Field Epidemiology Track

The Uganda Public Health Fellowship Program’s Field Epidemiology Track offers a two-year training-through-service fellowship for early- to mid-career health professionals who want to build applied epidemiology and leadership skills while serving Uganda’s Ministry of Health.

What it offers

• A 2-year training-through-service program in applied epidemiology and public health leadership.
• 80% of time spent on supervised field projects with MoH, UNIPH, US CDC, and partners; 20% in didactic training at UNIPH.
• Fellows develop competencies in public health surveillance, outbreak investigations, applied epidemiological studies, scientific and non-scientific communication, public health programming, cost analysis, quality improvement, and management/leadership.
• Fellows complete a portfolio of projects to prove competence.

Who can apply

• Applicants must have a master’s degree in Public Health, Health Services Research, Epidemiology, Veterinary Public Health, Nutrition, Environmental Health, Wildlife, or any other health-related discipline.
• Applicants should have 3–7 years of work experience in any health-related field (human, environmental, veterinary, wildlife, etc.).

What you'll do

• Provide public health services to the Ministry of Health, Regional and District Health Teams.
• Serve in priority technical units of the MoH or affiliated institutions under national and international expert supervision.
• Complete a portfolio of projects across core competency domains.
