TuksSport Sport Performance Support Bursary 2027

TuksSport’s Sport Performance Support Bursary helps full-time University of Pretoria students who compete at a high level in one of the listed sports to combine academics with elite-level training.

What it offers

• Annual bursaries for full-time registered students accepted into their planned study course at the University of Pretoria.
• Awarded for one sport code only; no double funding within the same year.

Who can apply

• Full-time registered students accepted for their planned study course at the University of Pretoria.
• Applicants must compete in one of the following sports: Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Canoe, Chess, Cricket, Cycling, Fencing, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo, Karate, Netball, Rowing, Rugby, Squash, Swimming, Tennis, Trampoline, Triathlon, Volleyball, Wrestling.
• You do not have to study sport to apply.
• Ensure the University offers your specific sport.

How to apply

• Click the apply link on the bursary page.
• Provide correct and complete information; incorrect or incomplete applications will be cancelled immediately.
• Each application is acknowledged within three weeks of submission.
• If you do not receive an acknowledgement within three weeks, follow up directly with the specific TuksSport club you applied to.

Good to know

• Successful applicants must sign a written contract annually.
• A legal guardian must sign the application form if the applicant is under the age of 18.
• The bursary is reviewed annually based on academic and sports performance; poor performance may lead to reduction or cancellation.
• Bursary funds are refundable to the university if the student does not adhere to the contract or cancels their studies; the full amount must then be repaid.
