Green Employment Impact Assessment and Just Transition Planning
About this opportunity
Four-day workshop on assessing green-economy policies' employment, skills, and environmental impacts. Covers GJAM methodology, data analysis, and just transition planning for Arab/Gulf countries.
The Green Employment Impact Assessment and Just Transition Planning is a four-day training programme hosted by the Sustainable Research and Development Center (SRD). It introduces the Green Jobs Assessment Model (GJAM) to help institutions and professionals assess how green-economy policies impact employment, skills, and livelihoods in the Arab region and Gulf countries. The workshop is designed for officials, researchers, and specialists in labour, economy, planning, and environment sectors, with a focus on practical skills like framing assessment questions and translating findings into inclusive transition plans. The training uses simplified examples tailored to regional priorities, drawing from the ILO’s December 2023 GJAM policy brief. Participants will engage in hands-on exercises using their laptops to apply the model to real-world scenarios, such as renewable-energy investments or circular-economy initiatives.
