Accountant

The Accountant role is a full-time position based in Nigeria, open to candidates with a background in accounting or finance. The position involves managing financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting audit processes.

What you'll do

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounts.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Monitor cash flow and ensure proper management of company funds.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Prepare and file statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.).
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and monitor asset depreciation.
• Verify and process payroll information as required.
• Assist in developing and implementing financial controls and procedures.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
