Africa No Filter Voices for Climate Justice Initiative 2026

Are you a storyteller from select African countries? Africa No Filter’s Voices for Climate Justice initiative supports creative professionals to produce stories that reframe climate justice, debt, gender and fossil fuels across Africa.

What it offers

• 12-month program delivered with Comic Relief
• Grants of up to US$4,000 for selected storytellers
• Training in climate justice, data storytelling and narrative framing
• Mentorship and content amplification support

Who can apply

• Storytellers aged 18+ who are journalists, content creators, podcasters, vloggers, muralists or data visualizers
• Must be based in Mozambique, Uganda, Nigeria, Angola, Chad, Republic of Congo, Tanzania, South Sudan, Malawi or Zambia
• Must have an active platform (podcast, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, publication or data visualization portfolio) with at least one year of activity
• Content creators and data visualizers need 5,000+ combined followers across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter/X and Snapchat; journalists may show publication circulation instead
• Must commit to publishing at least four pieces on gender, debt and fossil fuels over at least six months
• Must be individual applicants (no organizations or agencies)

What you'll do

• Develop a storytelling idea that connects gender, debt and fossil fuels in Africa
• Create content in English or French (video, podcast, article, mural or data visualization)
• Work with researchers and partners to ensure accuracy
• Share content on your platform and amplify via ANF channels

How to apply

• Step 1: Prepare a pitch deck (≤5 slides) or a video (≤60 seconds) highlighting your idea
• Step 2: Submit an online application via the ANF portal, including links to your platforms and a short audience description
• Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis
• Applications close on 25 September 2026 at 6:00 pm GMT
• Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed virtually; only they will be notified by 1 October 2026

Good to know

• Only individual applicants are eligible
• Content must not reinforce negative stereotypes or use hacked audiences
• Grantees will be selected based on originality, relevance to ANF’s mission, thematic focus and reach
• Grantee announcement is expected 15 October 2026
