Africa No Filter Voices for Climate Justice Program 2026

Africa No Filter’s Voices for Climate Justice program supports African storytellers to produce content on climate justice, debt, gender, and fossil fuels through grants, training, and amplification.

What it offers

• Grants of up to US$4,000 for 15–20 selected storytellers.
• A 12-month initiative delivered in partnership with Comic Relief.
• Training in climate justice, data storytelling, and narrative framing.
• Mentorship, content amplification, and support to work with researchers and partners.

Who can apply

• Storytellers over 18 years of age from Mozambique, Uganda, Nigeria, Angola, Chad, Republic of Congo, Tanzania, South Sudan, Malawi, and Zambia.
• Journalists, content creators, podcasters, vloggers, muralists, or data visualizers.
• Applicants must have an active platform for over one year (e.g., podcast, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, publication, or data visualization portfolio).
• Content creators must have a combined audience of at least 5,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter/X, and Snapchat (journalists may demonstrate reach through publication circulation).
• Applicants must commit to sharing a minimum of 4 pieces of content on gender, debt, and fossil fuels for at least 6 months.
• Applicants must be individuals, not organizations or agencies.
• All content must be in English or French.

How to apply

• Submit an online application via the ANF application portal.
• Include a written pitch deck on climate reparations and justice, and how you would shift discussions on debt, gender, and climate justice in Africa.
• Provide a short write-up (300 words max) explaining why your narrative should be considered.
• Submit links to your platforms and a description of your target audience/community.
• Applications are accepted on a rolling basis from 12 August 2026 until the deadline on 25 September 2026 at 6:00 pm GMT.
• Only complete applications will be considered.

Good to know

• Grantees will be selected based on the originality of their idea, relevance to ANF’s mission, focus on gender-debt-fossil fuels, and reach or standing within their platform or community.
• Shortlisted candidates will be notified by the first week of October 2026 and invited for virtual interviews.
• Incomplete applications, submissions via post or email, or content that reinforces negative stereotypes will not be considered.
