Outreachy December 2026 Paid Fully Remote Internship

Outreachy runs fully remote, paid internships for people facing underrepresentation in open source.

What it offers

• $7,000 USD total internship stipend
• Remote work for both interns and mentors
• 3-month duration: internships run early December 2026 to early March 2027

Who can apply

• Anyone facing underrepresentation, systemic bias, or discrimination in the technology industry of their country
• Outreachy openly welcomes women (both cis and trans), trans men, and genderqueer people
• Expressly invites residents and nationals of the United States of any gender who are Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American/American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander

What you'll do

• Work on open source projects in areas such as programming, research, user experience, documentation, graphical design, data science, marketing, user advocacy, and event planning

How to apply

• Intern applications are accepted from early August to mid August
• Mentors sign up from early August to late September
• Applicants contribute to projects from late September to late October
