External Examiner (Arabic)

Iconic Open University is inviting suitably qualified academics to serve as External Examiners for its Arabic programmes.

What it offers

• Contractual engagement as an External Examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
• Appointment typically for one academic session, renewable based on performance

Who can apply

• Must hold a Ph.D. in Arabic from an accredited institution
• Must be at the rank of Senior Lecturer or higher; Reader or Professor preferred
• Must have relevant expertise in Arabic language, literature, or related fields
• Must have prior experience as an external examiner at recognized tertiary institutions
• Must be independent of Iconic Open University (no recent employment, close relationships, or conflicts of interest)

What you'll do

• Serve as an External Examiner for Iconic Open University’s Arabic programmes
• Participate in assessment processes, including reviewing examination materials and moderating results
• Provide feedback to maintain academic quality and integrity

  • Letter of Interest on your department’s letter-headed paper, addressed to the Registrar and specifying the Arabic department
  • Detailed and updated CV highlighting academic qualifications, work experience, publications, and prior external examining experience
  • Copies of all academic certificates/credentials
  • Evidence of prior external examining experience (where applicable)
  • Contact details for at least two academic referees
  • Last appointment/promotion letter in an academic position
