GirlsLift Health Eastern Africa Leadership Journey 2027

WomenLift Health’s Eastern Africa Leadership Journey 2027 is a fully funded, 12-month hybrid program for mid-career women leaders in health++ who are committed to deepening their leadership impact and joining a lifelong network of allies.

What it offers

• Fully funded program with all costs covered, including travel and lodging
• Hybrid format with virtual and in-person elements
• Approximately 87 total learning hours, including touchpoints and a Health Leadership Project
• Two in-person residencies: Immersion (May 25–27, 2027) and Lift-Off (February 8–10, 2028)
• Mentoring, coaching, assessments, and peer learning in a diverse cohort

Who can apply

• Women who identify as such
• Fluency and confidence in written and verbal English, including emotional articulation and reflective dialogue
• Citizens and residents of Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan, or Burundi
• Mid-career leaders with 10–25 years of experience in health++
• Live in EAT time zone for at least 75% of the program
• Representation from diverse sectors (public, private, academia, NGO, philanthropy)

What you'll do

• Participate in live, small-group learning sessions
• Engage in virtual group mentoring and one-on-one coaching
• Complete a self-directed Health Leadership Project
• Attend mandatory in-person residencies and virtual touchpoints

How to apply

• Submit a letter of recommendation from a supervisor or senior leader
• The letter should address your leadership contributions, personal qualities, and how the program will enhance your skills
• Upload the letter as part of your application by the deadline

• 35 women leaders will be selected for the 2027 cohort
• Deadline: 11:59pm EAT, September 17
• Program runs March 2027–February 2028
• Attendance at all touchpoints is mandatory
