Who can apply

    • Experience working with journalists in crisis and conflict contexts
    • Thorough understanding of the global media landscape, particularly in Afghanistan, Pakistan and their neighbouring countries, preferred
    • Fluency in English and Pashto/Dari/Urdu required
    • Experience communicating under stressful conditions
    • Familiarity with discourse around exile and crisis journalism, media freedom and critical, non-discriminatory development communication
    • Flexibility and teamwork

What you'll do

  • Support project implementation for up to 18 days/month
  • Organize onboarding of all fellows, including needs/interest assessment and introduction of exiled Fellows to their host environment
  • Identify suitable project partners and experts to accompany the fellowship
  • Set up and moderate various social media channels for the fellow community
  • Function as the main point of contact for fellows for all programme elements
  • Oversee community development and support for in-country Fellows
  • Coordinate and support the productions of fellow journalists in exile
  • Close coordination with local partners in-country and in exile
  • Available for regular meetings with Fellows and the MiCT headquarter team in Berlin
