Jhpiego is recruiting adhoc staff to conduct a baseline Health Facility Assessment across 119 facilities in Kebbi State, Nigeria, as part of a project to strengthen reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health plus nutrition services.

Who can apply

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, Health Sciences, Health Information Management or related field.
• Experience: Minimum three years’ experience in health facility assessments, RMNCAH+N programmes, surveys, monitoring and evaluation, or quality improvement.
• Technical skills: Experience using electronic data collection platforms (ODK, KoboCollect, SurveyCTO or REDCap).

What you'll do

• Conduct standardized assessments of assigned health facilities using an electronic tool.
• Verify infrastructure, equipment, medicines, and commodities.
• Assess service delivery areas, facility registers, and records.
• Interview facility managers and healthcare workers.
• Evaluate emergency obstetric and newborn care readiness, referral systems, MPDSR committees, infection prevention, adolescent-friendly services, nutrition services, and digital readiness.
• Upload complete and accurate electronic data daily.
• Participate in daily debriefing meetings.
• Ensure confidentiality and data integrity.

• 24 Health Facility Assessors will be recruited to work in 12 teams of two assessors each.
• Each team will assess approximately 10 health facilities.
• Assessment teams will be supervised by Jhpiego Technical Staff and representatives from Kebbi State Ministry of Health, SPHCDA, and UNICEF.
