Jhpiego Nigeria is hiring a Nutrition Officer to lead nutrition interventions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Who can apply

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, food security, agriculture or related fields; a relevant master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in nutrition and/or food security and livelihood programming.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing nutrition programs and initiatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software for documentation and reporting.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

What you'll do

• Oversee daily implementation of nutrition-sensitive and specific interventions in the FCT.
• Develop nutrition implementation plans and track progress with the M&E team.
• Monitor and supervise nutrition activities, ensuring alignment with the work plan.
• Support capacity-building for health workers, nutrition focal persons, and food systems actors.
• Supervise activities promoting Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) and Homestead Food Production (HFP).
• Provide technical support for IMAM, MIYCN, and micronutrient supplementation.
• Support the establishment and operationalization of 20 OTP sites in the FCT.
• Enhance nutrition data quality, analysis, reporting, and utilization.
• Ensure integration of nutrition interventions within primary healthcare services.
• Support commodity management and adherence to national nutrition protocols.
• Participate in nutrition assessments, program monitoring, and evaluation activities.
• Draft monthly and quarterly financial forecasts.
• Participate in Nutrition Technical Working Group (TWG) and other relevant meetings.
• Support planning for events like World Breastfeeding Week and MNCH Week.
