Horizon Fellowship 2027 for Emerging Tech Experts (Funded)

The Horizon Fellowship 2027 supports emerging tech experts to work in U.S. public service through placements in federal agencies, Congress, and think tanks in Washington, DC.

What it offers

• $78,000 base salary for junior fellows, $130,000 for fellows, and $190,000+ for senior fellows
• $17,000 benefits-equivalent stipend, $3,000 professional development stipend, and up to $3,000 relocation support to DC

Who can apply

• Candidates with demonstrated subject-matter expertise in AI, biotechnology, or related emerging technologies
• Junior fellow: typically less than 3 years of full-time work experience and no PhD
• Fellow: typically 3+ years of relevant full-time experience or a PhD
• Senior fellow: typically 12+ years of full-time experience with extensive leadership experience

What you'll do

• Complete part-time remote training on policy work from January–March 2027, culminating in an in-person weekend in Washington, DC
• Participate in an individualized matching process with host organizations from April–May 2027
• Work full-time at a federal agency, congressional office, committee, or leading think tank in Washington, DC, starting spring/summer 2027
