PTDF Scholarship 2026

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) invites qualified Nigerians to apply for the 2026/27 In-Country Scholarship Scheme (ISS) for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Nigerian public universities.

What it offers

• Scholarships for undergraduate, master's, and PhD studies in Nigerian public universities.
• Focus on oil and gas, energy, and management-related fields.

Who can apply

• Undergraduate applicants: Must be full-time 200-level students in public universities, with a minimum CGPA of 2.4 on a 5.0 scale, and 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO (including English and Mathematics).
• Master's applicants: Must have a full-time admission letter, a minimum of Second-Class Lower (2:2) in an oil and gas-related field, and 5 credits in WAEC/SSCE/NECO.
• PhD applicants: Must have a full-time admission letter, a minimum of Second-Class Lower (2:2) in an oil and gas-related field, and a minimum of Merit in a second-degree certificate in an oil and gas-related discipline.
• Applicants must have a National Identity Number (NIN) and verify it before applying.
• Applicants who have previously benefited from PTDF scholarships or are current beneficiaries of other scholarships are not eligible.

What you'll do

• Submit a personal statement (300 words for undergraduates, 1,000 words for master's applicants).
• PhD applicants must submit a research proposal (not more than 6 pages) outlining their study's relevance to the oil and gas industry.

• Apply online via the PTDF Scholarship Management Portal: scholarship.ptdf.gov.ng.
• Applications open from Monday, 27th April 2026 to Friday, 5th June 2026.
• Upload required documents, including academic transcripts, admission letters, and certificates.

• The scholarship is merit-driven and competitive.
• Selection is based on academic merit, relevance of the proposed study to the industry, and national development impact.
• Only public universities and specific courses are considered.
• Part-time studies are not eligible.
