Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is seeking two Purchasing Officers to support procurement activities in Nairobi, Kenya, for a 12-month contract starting 1 September 2026.

What it offers

• 12-month contract (with a 3-month probation period), renewable based on performance
• Role reports to the Procurement Manager for SKID (Supply Kenya Intersection Department), supporting two MSF missions in Kenya

Who can apply

• Kenyan nationals only
• Education: Degree or Diploma in Procurement/Supply Chain Management
• Experience: At least 2 years in supply chain, specifically procurement
• Languages: Fluency in English and Kiswahili
• Computer skills: Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and UniField ERP system (desirable)

What you'll do

• Conduct day-to-day purchasing activities following MSF protocols
• Analyze market sources, negotiate prices, and ensure optimal supply of goods
• Update supplier-item-price data and inform supervisors of changes
• Obtain quotations, place purchase orders, and verify invoices/receipts
• Manage administrative and accounting procedures related to purchases
• Assist in reception control and archiving procurement files
• Prepare procurement documents and encode Purchase Orders in UniField ERP system
• Collaborate with Order Processing Officers to compile Internal Requests (IR) and Field Orders (FO)
• Source suppliers for regularly consumed items
