FLAC Fellowship 2026

The Feminist Leadership Accelerator for Change (FLAC) Fellowship 2026 (Cohort 3) is a 12-month programme designed to nurture feminist leadership among young African women, equipping them to drive social justice and systemic change.

What it offers

• A 12-month immersive fellowship focused on feminist leadership, activism, and community change.
• Modules covering gender healing, African feminist thought, communications, SGBV justice, climate justice, and professional development.
• A Community Accelerator Project (CAP) to design and implement a leadership initiative.

Who can apply

• Applicants must hold at least a high school certificate, diploma, or undergraduate degree.
• Must be between 19 and 25 years old at the time of application.
• Must self-identify as a woman (including all who self-identify as such).
• Must demonstrate community leadership or activism, preferably in women’s rights.
• Must reside in South Africa, Lesotho, Eswatini, Botswana, or Zimbabwe.
• Young women in rural areas and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.

What you'll do

• Engage in peer dialogue, immersive learning, and practical action.
• Complete modules on feminist leadership, communications, SGBV justice, and economic/climate justice.
• Design and implement a Community Accelerator Project (CAP).

How to apply

• Submit a CV (max 3 pages), including a leadership example.
• Provide a motivation letter explaining your interest in the fellowship and activism.
• Include a 2–3 minute motivation video on your social justice passion and goals.
• Submit two letters of recommendation from community representatives (not friends/family).
• Include one reference letter from a former educator confirming your leadership role.
