WomenPower2030 Seed Grant Call 2026

Women Environmental Programme (WEP) invites women-led and women’s rights organizations in Nigeria and Sierra Leone to apply for seed grants under the WomenPower2030 initiative, which supports gender-just climate action and sustainable development policies.

What it offers

• Maximum grant amount of 5,000 EUR per initiative.
• Projects must run for 3 to 6 months.

Who can apply

• Women-led and women’s rights organizations based in Nigeria or Sierra Leone.
• Women must make up at least 70% of the management team.
• Organizations must be affiliated with the Gender Advocacy Movement for the Environment (GAME) or another women’s movement/network.
• Organizations must have a demonstrable capacity to deliver projects.
• Organizations must not have been convicted of fraud or criminal activity.

What you'll do

Initiatives should focus on one or more of the following:

• Policy monitoring and dialogue with policymakers
• Educational and awareness-raising activities on gender and/or sustainable development
• Movement building
• Demonstrating equitable and sustainable solutions and services
• Gender-specific trainings and leadership trainings
• Tracking SDG/climate policies and budgets
• Social media and mainstream media campaigns

Note: Initiatives focused solely on awareness raising and workshops will not be accepted. Priority is given to initiatives influencing policy, demonstrating sustainable solutions, and ensuring gender-responsive budgets.

  • A detailed budget (Excel sheet)
  • Certificate of registration
  • Letter of reference
  • A single document compiling track records (e.g., reports, media links, testimonials)
• Applications must not exceed 10 pages (excluding attachments).
• Send completed applications to grants@wepnigeria.net with the subject line: “WomenPower2030 seed-grant application”.
