FairMoney is seeking a Senior Legal Officer to provide legal, company secretarial, and cross-border advisory support in Lagos, Nigeria.

Who can apply

• Qualification: LLB (or equivalent) from a recognized university
• Experience: Minimum of five years of post-call legal practice, including at least two years in a financial institution, fintech, or a law firm with a significant financial services practice
• Professional requirements:
  • BL and call to the Nigerian Bar
  • Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association
  • ICSAN membership or active progress toward ICSAN qualification is strongly preferred

What you'll do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (vendor contracts, partnership agreements, loan documentation, etc.)
• Provide legal opinions and advice to business units, EXCO, and internal stakeholders
• Assist in preparing board papers, agendas, minutes, and resolutions for Board, Executive Committee, and Board committees
• Maintain statutory registers, corporate records, and filings with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and other regulators
• Support regulatory compliance, including CBN licensing conditions and AML/CFT frameworks
• Provide cross-border legal support to FairMoney Group entities outside Nigeria
