2026/2027 African Leadership Centre Associate Fellowship in Peace, Security and Development

The 2026/2027 African Leadership Centre Associate Fellowship in Peace, Security and Development supports African students accepted onto the MSc Global Leadership and Peacebuilding at King’s College London.

What it offers

• A bursary covering 25 per cent of the MSc tuition fees for the 2026/27 academic year.
• A contribution of £5,000 toward living expenses in London.
• A paid six-month attachment after the MSc at a leading African university, regional organisation, or centre of excellence.

Who can apply

• African students applying to the MSc Global Leadership and Peacebuilding at King’s College London for 2026/27.
• Candidates must be studying full time.
• Applicants must demonstrate:
  • promotion of African-led ideas and processes of change
  • independent thinking
  • integrity
  • pursuit of excellence
  • recognition of youth agency
  • respect for diversity
• Must hold citizenship in an African country and have valid travel documents prior to acceptance.
• Must show interest in careers in peace, security and development.

How to apply

• Complete the online application questionnaire.
• Submit a supporting statement of 500–750 words explaining your motivation, unique contribution, and envisioned change.
• Provide two letters of recommendation to be sent directly by referees by 24 May 2026, 23:59 hrs EAT.
• Upload a recent two-page CV.
• Final offer depends on securing unconditional acceptance into the MSc programme by King’s College London’s deadline.
