UN Nairobi Immersion Programme 2026

The UN Nairobi Immersion Programme 2026 offers a five-day field visit to Nairobi to experience first-hand the work of key UN agencies based there.

What it offers

• A 5-day field visit from 1–5 June 2026 at the UN Offices at Nairobi (UNON), UNEP, UN-Habitat, UNDP, UNICEF, UNHCR and WFP.
• Activities include expert lectures, training workshops, multilateral conferences, private guided tours and career development sessions.
• A UNITAR certificate of completion is provided to participants who finish the programme.

Who can apply

• Open to anyone with a strong interest in the United Nations, including public and private sector professionals, NGO staff, think-tank members, academics, university students and candidates from other backgrounds.
• A maximum of 30 participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Immerse yourself in the host city of Nairobi’s UN agencies.
• Gain first-hand experience of UN operations and build professional networks.
• Attend career-focused workshops on leadership, competency-based interviewing and UN career pathways.

2. Click “check out” and create a profile on the UNITAR event page, filling in all required sections.
3. Review your information and choose a payment method: credit card or bank transfer.
4. Complete payment; if paying by bank transfer your payment is not final until confirmed later.
5. UNITAR will follow up with you by email after payment.
