Schauenburg Education Trust Bursary 2027 for South African Students

The Schauenburg Education Trust is offering bursaries for the 2027 academic year to support students pursuing scarce skills qualifications in South Africa.

What it offers

• 100% coverage of prescribed university tuition, registration, and exam fees, paid directly to the university.
• Accommodation allowance equivalent to the average rate for a single room in a university hostel.
• Textbook and course material allowance.
• Living allowance.
• All payments are determined by the Trustees and communicated to successful applicants.

Who can apply

• Current first, second, or third-year students studying Electrical Engineering (BEng or BSc) or Business Management and Business Administration (BCom) degrees.
• Must be enrolled at specified universities in Gauteng Province:
  • University of Pretoria
  • University of Johannesburg
  • North-West University (Vanderbijlpark)
  • University of the Witwatersrand
• Must be Black Persons as per B-BBEE Legislation, with preference given to Black women, those under 35 years of age, and those with disabilities.
• Must be South African citizens with valid ID numbers.
• Must be willing to attend interviews and undergo psychometric testing.
• Must be willing to spend a minimum of three weeks during mid-year university holidays attending vacation work or job shadowing at Schauenburg Systems (Pty) Ltd.

• Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by the Bursary Administrators and Trustees.

Good to know

• Bursaries will not be awarded to students already receiving another bursary for the 2026 academic year.
• Awards are based on objective merit and need, as determined by the Trustees.
• Bursaries can be cancelled or withdrawn if the student’s conduct or academic results do not meet the Trust’s requirements.
