EWAP Research Fellowship Programme 2027
About this opportunity
A 12-week online fellowship for 10 emerging researchers from diverse disciplines to develop enhanced weathering research skills in Africa.
The Enhanced Weathering Africa Partnership (EWAP) Research Fellowship Programme is a 12-week online programme designed for emerging researchers interested in enhanced weathering (EW) in Africa. It combines learning, mentorship, and collaborative research to build foundational knowledge, refine research skills, and foster an Africa-centric research network. The programme targets interdisciplinary applicants across environmental science, agriculture, policy, and more, offering hands-on sessions, expert feedback, and networking opportunities without financial costs or stipends. Applications open with an Expression of Interest (EOI) followed by a full application stage, with deadlines set for November 2026.
What it offers
This unpaid, online fellowship provides a structured curriculum covering EW fundamentals, research design, systems implementation, and mentorship. Fellows will engage in expert-led sessions, practical exercises, peer collaboration, and feedback to develop research proposals or publications. A Certificate of Completion is awarded upon meeting programme requirements, though it does not guarantee future paid or funded roles with EWAP.
Who can apply
The fellowship is open to final-year undergraduate students, Master’s students, PhD candidates, and early-career researchers globally. Applicants must demonstrate interest in enhanced weathering and its relevance to African climate, agriculture, and sustainability. The programme is interdisciplinary, welcoming applicants from environmental science, agriculture, engineering, policy, carbon markets, and related fields.
