The Africa Policy Research Institute (APRI) Young Talent Program offers internships for young professionals and recent graduates passionate about African policy research.

What it offers

• Practical experience and professional development in policy research within a growing think tank.

• Involvement in developing online content such as images, infographics, factsheets, videos, and blogs.
• Administrative support tasks, including maintaining databases, scheduling meetings, and grant reporting.
• Engagement in internal and external communication, stakeholder outreach, and policy briefing development.
• Support for monitoring and evaluating research projects and programs.

Who can apply

• Applicants in the European Union must be enrolled in a European university (Pflichtpraktikum).
• Applicants based in Africa or other regions may apply if they have recently graduated or are between academic programs.
• Ability to work in GMT+1 (Nigeria) or GMT+2 (Germany) time zones.
• Strong research, analytical, and media monitoring skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages (French, German, Arabic, or African languages) are a plus.
• Self-starter with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred: Completed graduate studies in International Relations, Political Economy, Development Studies, African Studies, or a related field; project management skills.

What you'll do

• Provide research, writing, data analysis, and editing support on program topics.
• Assist in organizing conferences, workshops, webinars, and other events.
• Collaborate on developing online content (images, infographics, factsheets, videos, blogs).
• Prepare weekly media monitoring.
• Provide administrative support (databases, scheduling, documentation, grant reporting).
• Engage in internal and external communication, stakeholder outreach, and policy briefing development.
• Support monitoring and evaluation of research projects and programs.
