Global Raptor Research and Conservation Grant 2026

The Global Raptor Research and Conservation Grant by HawkWatch International (HWI) funds local researchers to address critical knowledge gaps and implement conservation strategies for globally threatened and understudied raptor species. This grant supports ecological research and applied conservation efforts, such as population surveys, habitat restoration, and community-based programs, to improve raptor survival prospects. Projects must focus on species with an RCPI-Edge score greater than 0.5 and be led by researchers from the project’s country of operation, preferably affiliated with a registered NGO or university. Funding is capped at USD 3,500 per project, with priority given to projects that maximize budget impact and demonstrate proven commitment to raptor research. Applications must exclude projects in the USA, Canada, or Europe and focus on species with no prior research or significant knowledge gaps. The grant also offers non-monetary support, including scientific guidance and networking opportunities.
