The AfricaLics Visiting PhD Fellowship Programme 2027 is a fully funded opportunity for young African PhD students researching Innovation and Development from a social science perspective. Hosted by the University of Johannesburg, this programme includes a 3-month study visit (6 September – 3 December 2027) combined with online pre- and post-activities. The fellowship aims to enhance academic capabilities, improve dissertation quality, and prepare candidates for careers in academia, private sector, or policymaking while fostering an international research community in Africa. Female PhD students and applicants from low-income countries are especially encouraged to apply. The programme is part of the AfricaLics network, supported by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
