EFAC Scholarship for Kenyan Youth

EFAC offers scholarships to bright, disadvantaged Kenyan students starting in Senior High School, supporting leadership, economic opportunity, and social progress. The program targets students with demonstrated financial need, strong leadership potential, and an exceptional performance in the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA).

What it offers

• Scholarships for secondary school (Senior High School) only.
• No funding for primary school, junior secondary school (JSS), university, or other programs.
• Post-secondary scholarships are only available to current EFAC Scholars who complete Senior High School with EFAC.

Who can apply

• Kenyan citizens aged 16–18 (Senior High School applicants).
• Must meet admissions criteria:
  • Demonstrated financial need.
  • Strong leadership potential and commitment to community service.
  • KJSEA performance exceeding expectations.

How to apply

• Application period: April–August (forms available at EFAC Nairobi office or online).
• Submission:
  • Obtain an official EFAC Application Form (from the office or website).
  • Fill and submit physically or via courier to: Millennium Work Depot, 1st Floor – Wing 2, Langata Rd – Karen, Nairobi.
  • No electronic submissions accepted.
• Deadline: September (applications must be received by EFAC office).
• Shortlisting: September–December (based on need and KJSEA scores).
• Interviews: December (shortlisted candidates).
• Notification: December–January (successful applicants notified via SMS or call before Senior School reporting).

Good to know

• No scholarships for primary/junior secondary/university programs.
• Post-secondary scholarships require completion of Senior High School with EFAC.
• Late applications will not be considered.
