This role is for a Comptable (Accountant) based in Cameroon, September 2026 deadline, requiring expertise in financial management, compliance, and reporting for nonprofit organizations under OHADA and Cameroonian tax laws.
The position involves monthly financial consolidation, ledger maintenance, tax compliance, audit support, and cost optimization while collaborating with regional teams and ensuring adherence to financial controls and donor reporting standards. The role demands strong analytical, technical, and language skills in French and English, with a preference for experience in NGOs and risk management.

Who can apply

What you'll do
- Process and reconcile financial transactions, including monthly closings, general ledger updates, and auxiliary books, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and consolidate financial statements (annual reports, OHADA-compliant balance sheets) and respond to donor/regulatory inquiries.
- Manage tax filings (TVA, corporate tax, withholding taxes) and optimize VAT recovery processes.
- Support audits (internal/external) by preparing documentation, risk assessments, and financial analyses.
- Analyze cost structures to identify efficiencies and mitigate financial risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (administration, projects) to align financial controls with organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain accounting systems (e.g., controls, reporting tools) under supervision.
