CARE Cameroun is recruiting a Biodiversity and Sustainable Development Officer to implement and monitor reforestation activities under the “Maroua, Ville Verte Inclusive et Durable” project.

What you'll do

• Plan and implement reforestation campaigns on five site types (riverbanks, mountain slopes, roadsides, public spaces, private homes) aligned with the rainy-season calendar
• Identify site-specific constraints (soil type, access, human pressure, suitable species) and adapt planting plans accordingly
• Coordinate with contracted nurseries: verify plant quality/species, manage distribution, and track orders
• Collect and analyse survival-rate data via GPS-tagged field sheets, feeding project databases and FFEM/DUE performance indicators
• Monitor and report on biodiversity indicators: hectares restored, trees planted by species/site, survival rates
• Document lessons learned and prepare monthly progress reports for the Technical Supervisor
• Support maintenance of three urban green spaces and community environmental awareness sessions
• Assist research-action with ENSP Maroua by collecting flora inventories and soil data, and adapting reforestation guides
