GIZ Technical Advisor Job 2026 in Nairobi, Kenya: Lead Africa-Europe Partnerships in Film, Gaming and Audio-Visual Distribution

GIZ is seeking a Technical Advisor to strengthen distribution and ecosystem development for the EU-funded Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture: Audio-visual project, based in Nairobi.

Who can apply

• A university degree in film, media studies, cultural management, economics, trade and marketing, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the audiovisual sector, particularly in distribution, market development, or international industry collaboration.
• Strong understanding of global audiovisual markets, including distribution channels and emerging platforms.
• Experience working with international partnerships, development programmes, or donor-funded projects is an asset.
• Ability to organize industry events, markets, or partnership initiatives.
• Business fluency in English is vital; knowledge of German, French, or Portuguese is an advantage.

What you'll do

• Provide technical and methodological advice on distribution strategies, audience development, and market access for audiovisual content.
• Initiate and support partnerships between African and European distributors, broadcasters, publishers, streaming platforms, and other market actors.
• Facilitate cooperation mechanisms among industry stakeholders, including markets, platforms, hubs, incubators, and professional networks.
• Organize and support matchmaking, networking activities, and participation in international audiovisual markets and events.
• Contribute to project planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
