KEMRI Research Intern – Statistics Job Vacancy in Nairobi 2026

KEMRI is seeking a Research Intern in Statistics to support implementation research in Nairobi. This internship offers hands-on experience in data collection, analysis, and public health project coordination.

What it offers

• Training in electronic data collection tools (REDCap, KoboCollect, ODK) and statistical software (STATA, R, SPSS, SAS, Python).
• Participation in field activities, stakeholder engagement, and preparation of technical reports.

Who can apply

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong interest in implementation research, neglected tropical diseases, community health, and health systems.
• Experience in public health or community-based research.
• Experience using REDCap, KoboCollect, ODK, or similar electronic data collection platforms.
• Knowledge of statistical software (STATA, R, SPSS, SAS, or Python).
• Experience working with Ministry of Health programmes, community health workers, or research institutions.

What you'll do

• Conduct literature reviews and evidence synthesis.
• Develop study protocols, data collection tools, and training materials.
• Coordinate field activities and stakeholder engagement meetings.
• Collect quantitative data and manage/analyse it.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, policy briefs, and manuscripts.
• Monitor project activities and document lessons learned.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for project implementation.
