• Contract duration: 12 months

Who can apply

• Internal Audit Internship: National Diploma in Internal Auditing/Accounting or equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification
• Disaster Management Internship: National Diploma or relevant qualification in Disaster Management
• Disaster Management Internship: Valid Code B driver’s licence (recommendation)
• Disaster Management Internship: Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, GIS—minimum ability to use Google Earth)
• Disaster Management Internship: Excellent communication and written skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
• Disaster Management Internship: Physically fit and able to work in inclement weather conditions

What you'll do

• Internal Audit Internship:

  • Assist in the planning phase of the audit
  • Conduct audits as scheduled in the Internal Audit Annual Operational Plan
  • Complete internal audit files using required templates
  • Provide administrative and audit-related support to the Division: Internal Audit

• Disaster Management Internship:

  • Assist with administrative and logistical tasks, including responding to incidents/disasters
  • Compile Disaster Management reports and coordinate stakeholder engagements
  • Implement Disaster Risk Reduction initiatives
  • Liaise with role-players on Disaster Management issues (incidents, early warning)
  • Implement training and awareness initiatives
  • Provide general administrative support
