Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer (Madagascar)

This role supports Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) across SEED’s community and conservation programmes in southeast Madagascar.

What it offers

• Local salary covering accommodation and living costs, with £1,200 toward flights and £650 toward insurance
• 2-year contract with potential to extend
• Office-based in Fort Dauphin with occasional travel to project sites

Who can apply

• Candidates with 1–2 years’ experience in development or conservation
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear written communication
• Interest in community-based development and conservation

What you'll do

• Support MEL procedures and strategies to track progress toward project outcomes
• Design and implement MEL systems across multiple projects
• Provide guidance on monitoring tools, data management, and reporting
• Collect, analyse, and use data to improve programme quality and accountability
• Contribute to organisational learning by helping teams reflect on results and integrate lessons
