The 2026/2027 Higher Education Funding portal is now open for first-time applicants seeking loans, bursaries, and scholarships under Kenya’s Student Centred Funding Model (SCFM).

What it offers

• Funding combines scholarships, loans (tuition and upkeep), and household contributions on a graduated scale based on assessed need.

Who can apply

• First-time applicants for both Undergraduate and TVET programs.
• Requires an official admission letter from a university or TVET institution.

What you'll do

• Submit required documents including:
  • Applicant’s KCPE and KCSE index numbers and year of examination
  • Passport size photo (jpeg/jpg/png)
  • National ID/Maisha Card (both sides in PDF)
  • Valid bank details or MPESA number (registered under applicant’s name and ID)
  • Parents’ National ID and registered telephone number
  • Death certificate (if parent is deceased)
  • Birth certificate (if applying as a minor)
  • Two guarantors’ ID numbers and registered telephone numbers
  • Sponsorship letter (if sponsored in secondary school)
