What it offers

• Location: Yaoundé, Cameroun
• Contract duration: 12 months, renewable depending on funding and performance
• Salary and benefits: Level 9 on the NRC salary scale; contract may be national/resident and/or international/mobile depending on the final profile

Who can apply

• Minimum experience: At least 3 years in a senior financial role with management responsibilities in a humanitarian/relief context
• Language: Fluency in French and English, both written and oral
• Regional experience: Prior experience in the region and/or operational area is preferred
• Technical skills: Experience in risk management with implementing partners and remote management

What you'll do

• Supervise the implementation of all financial policies, procedures, strategies, and initiatives in coordination with national and regional finance teams
• Provide hierarchical supervision to direct reports, including:
  • Performance management: setting clear objectives aligned with strategic priorities, monitoring progress, and supporting staff
  • Workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, staff development, and mentoring of national staff to build sustainable financial leadership capacity
• Develop and maintain country-level financial documents, procedures, guidelines, and tools, including the country strategy, ensuring consistency across the national program and alignment with organizational standards
• Ensure overall country budget control and monitor cash flows
• Ensure budgeting, accounting, year-end procedures, and other financial processes are conducted in accordance with the NRC Financial Manual, NRC policies, and donor and auditor requirements
• Strengthen internal controls and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including fraud, embezzlement, and misuse of funds
• Train and build the financial and budgetary capacity of NRC staff and partners
• Ensure rigorous implementation of the anti-corruption policy, including prevention, detection, reporting mechanisms, and follow-up of suspected cases
