UNITAR Women’s Leadership in Disaster Risk Reduction Training Programme 2026

UNITAR’s 2026 training programme equips learners from Pacific Island and Asia-Pacific countries with skills in disaster risk reduction and inclusive leadership.

What it offers

• 500 places for learners aged 18+ from Pacific Island countries and territories or the Asia-Pacific.
• Two-phase programme:
  • Phase I: Online learning from August to November 2026 (self-paced modules, webinars, assignments).
  • Phase II: Specialized training for top performers:
    • Online workshop for Asia and non-Pacific participants in February 2027.
    • In-person workshop for Pacific participants in March 2027.
• Participants develop an inclusive disaster risk reduction plan and receive a UNITAR certificate on completion.

Who can apply

• Open to any gender, 18+, living in or from Pacific Island countries and territories or the Asia-Pacific.
• Encouraged countries: Pacific Island countries (e.g., Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu) and Asia (e.g., India, Indonesia, Philippines).
• Applicants from other countries are welcome, with material contextualized to the Pacific and Asia.
• Must be proficient in English, computer-literate, and committed to completing the programme.
