ASMAF Scholarship for Nigerian Undergraduates 2026

The ASMAF Scholarship supports indigent Nigerian women pursuing full-time undergraduate degrees in professional fields at public universities.

What it offers

• Financial assistance covering tuition, board and upkeep for up to 6 years, depending on the course and year of award, subject to maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
• Life skills and leadership development programmes including mentoring.
• Access to resources that encourage academic excellence and lifelong learning.

Who can apply

• Must be female, indigent and a Nigerian citizen.
• Must be embarking on tertiary-level qualifications for the first time.
• Must have gained admission to or be enrolled in a full-time accredited undergraduate programme in Medicine, Law, Actuary, Engineering, Accountancy, Architecture or any professional course in any public university in Nigeria.
• Must meet the financial need and academic requirements specified in the guidelines.
• Must demonstrate commitment to academic and professional excellence and possess strong leadership potential.

• Fill the online form.
• Submission starts on 1st August 2026 and deadline for collection and submission is Tuesday 15th September 2026.
• Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
• Selection decisions are final.
• Recommenders may be contacted.
• Applicants must provide evidence of admission into the university and evidence of appropriate academic record, including:
  • Letter of university admission from the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB).
  • Evidence of credit passes in required subjects from GCE, NECO, WASC or other approved examinations.
  • Evidence of success in any required post-JAMB examination or interview.
  • Official transcript certified by the university Registrar.

Good to know

• Financial need is evaluated based on applicant and family income, assets and family size.
• The scholarship is awarded annually and renewed if the awardee maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and participates fully in all programmes.
• Awardees must submit a one-page annual progress report and seek approval for any part-time employment or changes to their course of study.
