Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) International Scholarship 2026

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) International Scholarship 2026 supports international students and graduates to study and research in Germany.

What it offers

• Financial support for Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Postgraduate programs: up to €992 per month.
• Financial support for doctoral candidates: up to €1,400 per month.
• Standard duration of support: two years for Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Postgraduate programs.
• Standard funding duration for doctoral studies: three years.
• Additional allowances: health insurance subsidy of up to €120 per month, family allowance of €276 if spouse resides in Germany for more than three months, child allowance of €250 per child with proper documentation.
• Research travel grants abroad (excluding conference visits) and partial reimbursement of university tuition fees—up to €750 per semester in exceptional cases.

Who can apply

• International students and graduates who have acquired a university degree.
• Applicants intending to complete postgraduate or master studies, doctoral studies, or a research stay of at least four semesters at a university in Germany.
• Applicants must support democracy, rule of law, and human rights.
• Mandatory Requirements:
  • German language proficiency: Minimum B2 level, demonstrated for example by a Goethe-Institut certificate.
  • Master’s applicants: Must intend to enroll in a four-semester MA program at a German university.
  • Bachelor’s applicants: Must have successfully completed at least two semesters of a BA program at a German university.
  • Applicants must be fully admitted to a doctoral program at a German university.
