Instrument Laboratory Analyst at SGS

SGS is seeking an Instrument Laboratory Analyst to conduct instrumental testing of food, non-food, and other products in Mombasa, Kenya.

What it offers

• Full-time position in Mombasa, Kenya
• Responsibilities include testing products using chromatographic, elemental, and instrumental analysis methods such as GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, GC-FID, ICP-OES, and UV-Visible Spectrophotometer
• Ensuring compliance with ISO 17025, GLP, and health and safety standards
• Adhering to turnaround times and maintaining accurate, reliable test data

Who can apply

• Minimum degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry (or equivalent) from a recognized institution
• Minimum two years of laboratory testing experience, preferably in a multi-purpose laboratory
• Good knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, and HSE standards
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and apply relevant testing protocols

• Perform instrumental analysis on food, non-food, and other products
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC systems, ISO 17025, and GLP standards
• Maintain health and safety measures for sample handling and disposal
• Meet client testing requirements and adhere to turnaround times
• Keep up with developments in analytical standards and technologies
• Provide training and mentorship to laboratory team members
• Perform housekeeping and ensure a clean, safe laboratory environment
