Factory Machinist / Machine Operator

Placement Point (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Factory Machinist / Machine Operator to oversee production lines and operate conventional milling machines, lathes, and top-down drills in Pretoria, Gauteng.

Who can apply

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification
• N3 / Trade Test in Fitting and Machining (or equivalent)

What you'll do

• Machine Minder:
  • Start, stop, and monitor production lines
  • Clear jams, feed raw materials, and perform basic first-line maintenance
  • Rarely perform custom setup, precision tool calibration, or manual shaping from blueprints
• Manual Machinist / Operator:
  • Operate handwheels, levers, and axes on conventional lathes and mills
  • Read technical drawings to cut, shape, and turn raw metal or wood into custom parts
  • Measure tolerances using precision instruments like calipers and micrometers
